Here is an extra nice example of a homerun trade.  RIMM Research in Motion:  The stock went on a 210 point tear over 6 months from 138 to 348 (partial profit taking exit.)  Options Contracts costing $1500 per contract went to $19,500 a piece.  In other words, depending on account size an average options trader aggressive in our style could have bought 50 contracts and would have turned their trend investment into +$975,000.  Now that's how you move an account forward!  

How about a more mundane example.  Let's look at AMGN.  In January 06 AMGN started an MAGNA Trend downward from 71.40 to 56.60 for a price gain of 14.8 points.  Put options were going for $280 a contract and they swelled to $1,230 a contract.  Let's say your average options trader really like this trend and so they bought 100 contracts for $23,800, who knows they may have bought more or less.  But that original $23,800 swelled to $123,000 in 2 months.  Is that enough to pay the bills this month?
